Problem
Your Wyze Scale measurements are incorrect; your weight measurement is wrong.
Troubleshooting
- Check that the Wyze app is up to date.
In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.
- If possible, confirm that Wyze Scale’s firmware is up to date.
You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
If there is an update available for the scale, please move forward with updating it.
- Ensure that Bluetooth® is enabled for the Wyze app in the phone/tablet settings.
- Toggle Bluetooth® off/on.
- Verify that Location Permissions are enabled for the Wyze app in the phone/tablet settings.
- Make sure that it is set to Always or While Using the App.
- For iOS users, make sure that Precise Location is turned on.
- Check that the correct user profile in the Wyze app is selected while measuring.
- In the Wyze app, select Wyze Scale.
- In the upper right, tap the profile icon, then select the correct profile.
- Make sure that the proper stance is being used while measuring.
- Feet should be fully in contact with the scale.
- Stand in the middle of the scale.
- Feet should be bare – no socks or shoes.
- Knees should not be touching.
- Keep still until the measurement is complete.
- Ensure that nothing is blocking the scale’s measurement.
- Clean the scale’s surface by wiping gently with a soft, damp cloth, then dry it fully.
- For users with very dry skin, wipe feet with a damp cloth before measuring.
- Disable the Only Measure Weight feature.
- Navigate to the scale’s settings.
- Tap Users, then select the correct profile to access the Account Info screen.
- Disable Only Measure Weight.
- Check if you're using Athlete Mode.
- Navigate to the scale’s settings.
- Tap Users, then select the correct profile to access the Account Info screen.
- Disable Athlete Mode.
- Note: Athlete Mode should only be enabled for users with 3-5% body fat.
- Power cycle Wyze Scale.
- Remove the batteries for 10 seconds, then reinstall them.
- Delete Wyze Scale from the app.
- In the Wyze app, navigate to Wyze Scale's settings > Delete Device.
- Set up the scale as new.
Note: Please note that body composition data is only available for adults aged 18-80 years old. Children and seniors 81+ will not be able to access this feature.
