Problem
Your Wyze Bulb Cam won’t power on or doesn’t have a status light.
Troubleshooting
- Check if the camera is in a socket with a dimmer switch.
- If it is in a socket with a dimmer switch, we recommend moving the camera to a different socket, as dimmer switches are not recommended.
- Note: If using dimmer switches, the brightness will need to be adjusted from within the Wyze app only. Using the physical dimmer switch may cause functionality problems.
- If it is in a dimmer switch and it cannot move it to a different socket, ensure that the dimmer switch is turned to its highest setting.
- If it is in a socket with a dimmer switch, we recommend moving the camera to a different socket, as dimmer switches are not recommended.
- Verify that the camera is installed securely in the socket.
- Note: It should not be too tight or too loose.
- Ensure that the fixture where Wyze Bulb Cam is installed is physically powered on.
- Turn it off, then back on.
- If Wyze Bulb Cam was already set up in the Wyze app, ensure the status light is enabled.
- In the Wyze app, go to the camera’s settings > Advanced Settings > Camera Status Lights > then toggle the lights off and on.
- Check the socket type. Make sure it’s a standard E26 socket that is compatible with A19 shape bulbs, with a power output bigger than 15W.
- Move the camera to a different socket to determine if there is an issue with the original socket.
- If unable to move to a different location, try installing a regular light bulb in the socket to see if it powers on.
