My Wyze Bulb Cam has poor image quality at night.

Problem

Your Wyze Bulb Cam’s live stream or recordings have poor image quality at night; the image shows a bloom on the side of the camera’s view at night when IR night vision is on.

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm that the Wyze app is up to date.
    1. In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
    2. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
    3. Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
    4. If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store, and update the Wyze app.
  2. If possible, check that Wyze Bulb Cam’s firmware is up to date.
    1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
    2. If there is an update available for the camera, please move forward with updating it.
  3. Ensure there is nothing impairing the camera’s lens.
    • Remove any plastic film or cover from the lens.
    • Gently wipe the lens with a soft cloth to remove any dust or debris.
    • Verify that the camera lens is not blocked by the sconce or fixture cover.
      • Manually adjust the telescopic rod to ensure the camera is not blocked.
  4. Verify that there are no additional light sources next to or pointing toward the camera lens that may cause interference.
  5. Adjust the camera resolution.
    1. From the camera’s live stream, tap the resolution icon to toggle between the modes.
    2. Note: We recommend setting it to 2K resolution.
  6. Cycle through Night Vision Mode.
    1. Navigate to the camera’s settings > Advanced Settings.
    2. Cycle through Auto, On, and Off.
    3. Note: We recommend setting it to Auto.
  7. Restart the camera.
    1. Navigate to the camera’s settings > Restart Camera > Restart.
  8. Power cycle Wyze Bulb Cam.
    1. Manually turn off the socket via the light switch for 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
  9. Factory reset Wyze Bulb Cam.
    1. Remove any microSD card inserted into the camera.
    2. With the camera powered on, press and hold the setup button on the bottom of the camera for 10 seconds until the status light on the front of the camera turns solid red.
    3. Once the status light starts flashing red, set up Wyze Bulb Cam like new.
