My Wyze Battery Video Doorbell has poor image quality.

Problem

Your Wyze Battery Video Doorbell's live stream is discolored, there is a purple or pink tint to the picture, lines in the image, or you are experiencing generally poor image quality.

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm that the Wyze app is up to date.
    1. In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About
    2. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
    3. Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
    4. If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.
  2. If possible, check that your Wyze Battery Video Doorbell’s firmware is up to date.
    1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
    2. If there is an update available for the doorbell, please move forward with updating it.
  3. Ensure there is nothing impairing the doorbell’s lens.
    • Remove any plastic film/cover on the lens.
    • Gently wipe the lens with a soft cloth to remove any dust or debris.
    • If there is a third-party cover on the device, please remove it.
  4. Verify that there are no additional light sources next to or pointing toward the camera lens that may cause interference.
    • If the camera lens is in the direct path of the sun, it is possible that a lens flare appears in the image. We recommend adjusting the position of the camera angle so that it is not in the direct path of the sunlight, but this is an expected phenomenon in standard cameras.
  5. Ensure Wyze Battery Video Doorbell has good signal strength.
    1. You can check this in the Wyze app by going to the doorbell’s settings > Device Info > Signal Strength.
    2. If it has 2 bars or less, try moving the doorbell closer to the router.
  6. Switch between using the Wi-Fi connection and cellular/mobile data to determine if there is an issue with the Wi-Fi.
  7. Adjust the live stream resolution to a lower resolution.
    • Higher resolution requires more bandwidth and is more likely to cause slower connectivity.
  8. Cycle through Night Vision Mode.
    1. Navigate to the doorbell’s settings > Advanced Settings.
    2. Cycle through On, Off, and Auto.
    3. Note: We recommend setting it to Auto
  9. Toggle the IR lights on/off.
    1. Navigate to the doorbell’s settings > Advanced Settings
    2. Toggle Night Vision IR Light on/off.
  10. Reboot the Wi-Fi router.
  11. Restart the doorbell.
    1. Navigate to the doorbell’s settings > Restart Device > Restart
  12. Factory reset Wyze Battery Video Doorbell.
    1. Use the included Doorbell Detaching Pin to remove the doorbell from the back panel, if the doorbell is mounted.
    2. Remove any microSD card that is inserted into the doorbell. The next step will reset your device.
      • You must remove any inserted microSD card before factory resetting your doorbell.
    3. Single-press the SETUP button on the back of the doorbell.
    4. Pressing the SETUP button will fully reset the doorbell. "Ready to connect" will sound.
    5. Set up the camera like new by following along in the app. Related article: Wyze Battery Video Doorbell Setup Guide.
