My Wyze Battery Video Doorbell won’t charge.

Problem

Your Wyze Battery Video Doorbell won’t charge.

Troubleshooting

  1. If already set up, check that your Wyze Battery Video Doorbell’s firmware is up to date.  
    1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.  
    2. If there is an update available for the doorbell, please move forward with updating it.
  2. Verify that the doorbell is being charged using the USB-C to USB-A power cable that it came with. 
    • Wyze Battery Video Doorbell requires a 5V2A power adapter (not included). 
  3. Ensure the power cable is inserted correctly and securely into the doorbell and adapter. 
  4. Check the charging indicator light. 
    • The charging indicator is located on the back of the doorbell behind the “5V/2A” rubber cover. 
    • If the battery is charging, the charging indicator light will be solid red.  
    • If the battery is fully charged, the charging indicator light will be solid blue. 
    • Note: It takes up to 6 hours to fully charge the battery from 0-100%. 
  5. Try plugging the doorbell into a different power outlet. 
  6. Try a different power cable or 5V2A power adapter to determine if the cable or adapter is defective. 
  7. If already set up, restart the doorbell.  
    1. Navigate to the doorbell’s settings > Restart Device > Restart.  
  8. Factory reset Wyze Battery Video Doorbell.  
    1.  Use the included Doorbell Detaching Pin to remove the doorbell from the back panel, if the doorbell is mounted.
    2. Remove any microSD card that is inserted into the doorbell. The next step will reset your device.
      • You must remove any inserted microSD card before factory resetting your doorbell.
    3. Single-press the SETUP button on the back of the doorbell.
    4. Pressing the SETUP button will fully reset the doorbell. "Ready to connect" will sound.
