Wyze Scale Ultra BodyScan Setup Troubleshooting

Problem

You’re unable to set up your Wyze Scale Ultra BodyScan. 

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm that your Wyze app is up to date.  

    1. In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About 

    2. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.  

    3. Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.  

    4. If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app. 

  2. Ensure that Bluetooth® is enabled for the Wyze app in the phone/tablet settings.     

    1. Unpair any unused Bluetooth® devices from the phone/tablet.  

    2. Toggle Bluetooth® off/on. 

  3. Verify that Location Permissions are enabled for the Wyze app in the phone/tablet settings.

    1. Make sure that it is set to Always or While Using the App.

    2. For iOS users, make sure that Precise Location is turned on. 

  4. Make sure the correct setup steps are being followed as listed in our Wyze Scale Ultra BodyScan Setup Guide.

  5. If setting up using Wi-Fi, ensure that the phone/tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network that is being entered at the Select your network step, that the SSID (Wi-Fi name) is being entered correctly, and that the network is functioning normally.

    • Wyze Scale Ultra BodyScan is only compatible with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

    • The SSID is case-sensitive, and there should be no space before or after the SSID

    • The SSID should automatically populate if the phone/tablet is connected to Wi-Fi. If it does not auto-populate, it can indicate that the phone/tablet that is being used for setup is not connected to Wi-Fi. 

  6. Check that the Wi-Fi password is entered correctly.

    • Tap on the eye icon to view the password entered. 

  7. Make sure the scale and phone/tablet are close to the router (within 6-10 feet) during the setup process.

  8. Forget the Wi-Fi network and rejoin the network on the phone/tablet, then try setting up the scale again

  9. Reboot the Wi-Fi router.

  10. Force close the Wyze app, then re-open it. 

  11. Turn off the mobile device, then turn it back on.

  12. Power cycle Wyze Scale Ultra BodyScan

    1. Remove the batteries for 10 seconds, then reinstall them.

  13. Factory reset Wyze Scale Ultra BodyScan.

    1. On the back of the scale in the battery compartment, find the UNIT button.

    2. Press and hold it for 3 seconds until the scale’s display shows "Clear".

    3. Set up the scale as new.  

If possible, try using another mobile device for setup.
