Problem
When you try to unlock Wyze Gun Safe using your fingerprint, it does not work.
Troubleshooting
- Make sure you’re not in a lockout period.
- If there were already 5 failed attempts, the gun safe will be in a 5-minute lockout period. You can end this period by unlocking the gun safe via the Wyze app.
- Wipe the fingerprint sensor with a cloth to be sure it is clear of dust and debris.
- 💡Tip: If you have dry skin, try using a drop of lotion to ensure an accurate reading of your fingerprint.
- Ensure you are covering the entire fingerprint sensor with your finger.
- Delete and re-add your fingerprint.
- To delete a fingerprint:
- In the Wyze app, select the Wyze Gun Safe > Settings > Fingerprints.
- Select the fingerprint you want to delete and tap Delete Fingerprint.
- To add a fingerprint:
- In the Wyze app, select the Wyze Gun Safe > Settings > Fingerprints > Add Fingerprints.
- On Wyze Gun Safe, place your finger on the fingerprint sensor then lift it up and down, adjusting slightly each time to ensure a successful scan. You will need to do this 8 times for a complete scan.
- There will be an “Operation Failed, timed out” message if not completed within 40 seconds.
- Name your fingerprint. (We suggest specifying which finger is being used for the fingerprint in case you forget.)
- To delete a fingerprint:
- Power cycle Wyze Gun Safe by removing the batteries for 5 seconds and then reinserting the batteries.
- Factory reset Wyze Gun Safe.
- To factory reset, open Wyze Gun Safe, press the pairing button for about 3 seconds until you hear a beep, and attempt setup again.
