Problem
Your Wyze Palm Lock is having trouble calibrating, or you’ve received a calibration failed error.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm that the Wyze app is up to date.
- In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
- Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
- Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
- If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.
-
Check that the door is compatible and is the proper thickness by referring to Is my door compatible with Wyze Palm Lock?
Note: The proper door thickness is 1 3/8 - 2 1/8 in (35 - 55 mm).
- Ensure that the steps listed in Wyze Palm Lock Calibration Guide are followed completely, as directed by the voice prompts. Critical steps include:
- Close the door and lock it manually.
- Unlock the door and open the door to the widest angle possible (at least 90°).
- This step is critical for the lock’s gyroscope to accurately detect the door’s “open” position.
- Close the door again and lock it again.
- Note: Ensure the door and lock are not adjusted until directed by the voice prompts.
- Verify that there is nothing blocking the deadbolt.
- Remove any debris from the dust box.
- Manually adjust Wyze Palm Lock’s thumb latch to check if there is any resistance or jamming. If there is resistance or jamming:
- Verify that the deadbolt is not hitting the cross bore.
- Check that the dust box is fully inserted into the door jam and that the deadbolt can be fully inserted into the dust box.
- Remove the lock’s internal assembly and check that the metal tailpiece (the middle pillar from the external assembly) is in the center of the bore hole.
- Ensure the two long screws are not blocking any part of the hole where the tailpiece is inserted.
- If using the shorter screws, the door is likely a thinner door that is not a standard US door. If this is the case:
- Do not push too hard when installing the screws on the interior assembly. This should ensure the interior assembly is not too tightly attached to the mounting plate in a way that may interfere with the lock.
- Note: This will not affect the security of the lock since the mounting plate and exterior assembly are securely installed.
- If the physical lock and deadbolt are working as expected, but the app continues to state that the calibration failed:
- Power cycle Wyze Palm Lock.
- Remove the main battery pack completely for 10 seconds, then place it back into the lock, ensuring it is seated firmly.
- Factory reset Wyze Palm Lock.
- Remove the cover on the interior assembly by pressing in and up on the top portion of the interior assembly.
- Press and hold the reset button for 8 seconds until the status light begins pulsing red.
- Once the status light starts pulsing red, set up the lock as new.
- Power cycle Wyze Palm Lock.
