Problem
You cannot view microSD card recordings, cannot record to the microSD card, or your Wyze Battery Video Doorbell cannot detect the microSD card.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm that the Wyze app is up to date.
- In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
- Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
- Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
- If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.
- If possible, check that your Wyze Battery Video Doorbell’s firmware is up to date.
- You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
- If there is an update available for the doorbell, please move forward with updating it.
- Verify that the microSD card is compatible with the doorbell.
- Wyze Battery Video Doorbell is compatible with microSD cards up to 32 GB in FAT32 format, and microSD cards up to 256 GB in exFAT format.
- Verify that the microSD card is properly inserted into the device.
- Remove the microSD card and then reinsert it into the doorbell.
- Wait for about 5 seconds until there is a "ding ding" sound.
- If no sound is heard, reinsert the microSD card or, if possible, insert a different microSD card into the doorbell.
- Check that the selected playback time is correct.
- In the Wyze app, navigate to the doorbell’s live stream > SD Card.
- In the timeline, scroll left and right to the desired footage date/time.
- Ensure that the MicroSD Card settings are correct.
- Navigate to the doorbell’s settings > MicroSD Card.
- Enable Record to MicroSD Card and select Events Only.
- Please note that Continuous recording requires Wyze Battery Video Doorbell to be hardwired.
- Note: If experiencing issues recording events, refer to My Wyze Battery Video Doorbell is missing or not recording Events.
- Format the microSD card.
- To format the microSD card through the Wyze app:
- Navigate to the MicroSD Card settings.
- Next to Camera MicroSD Card, tap Format > Format.
- Wait for about 30 minutes to check if there is any footage.
- To format the microSD card through a computer, refer to How to Format your microSD card.
- To format the microSD card through the Wyze app:
- Restart the doorbell.
- Navigate to the doorbell’s settings > Restart Device > Restart.
- Factory reset Wyze Battery Video Doorbell.
- Use the included Doorbell Detaching Pin to remove the doorbell from the back panel, if the doorbell is mounted.
- Remove any microSD card that is inserted into the doorbell. The next step will reset your device.
- You must remove any inserted microSD card before factory resetting your doorbell.
- Single-press the SETUP button on the back of the doorbell.
- Pressing the SETUP button will fully reset the doorbell. "Ready to connect" will sound.
